JANE FLOWERS & ROBERT HOLCOMBE EXHIBITION - 2007

Opening Saturday 20 January 5:00 - 7:00pm Drinks with the artists

Jane Flowers and Robert Holcombe are renowned for their contemporary paintings, large and small canvases of land and seascapes. Works may be previewed on Friday 19 January.

Jane, lives in, and loves the local environment. Her large oils on canvas show a passion for the colours, patterns, textures and light inherent in our Australian landscapes and coastlines, especially the waters off Pt Lonsdale and Queenscliff’s beaches, and so well know or their changing colours and moods. Jane’s frequently commissioned work reflects her love of sailing and the great outdoors and is concerned with capturing the essence of time and place.

Robert, an international award winning artist, is best known for his contemporary and  also more abstract paintings that reveal the beauty, harshness and fragility of the Australian landscape. Strong lines dissect the textured and coloured canvases as the work surface is rubbed, scraped, wiped and scumbled.
