Jane Flowers - Georgie Gall – Robert Holcombe

Selected works of gallery artists

Champagne Opening 16  January 4 - 6pm

Exhibition 16 - 31 January 2010

You will  view each artist’s response to the environment, inspired by the uniqueness of the colours and forms of the Australian landscape.

Jane Flowers is intrigued with changing light. Whether it is the intense colours, patterns and light of inland Australia or the pearlescent quality of early morning or evening coastal light, Jane builds each work by layering carefully chosen colours, by rubbing back and using multiple glazes. (Jane was awarded ‘People Choice at the recent ANL Maritime 2009 Exhibition).

Georgie Gall imbues her work with a sense of the vastness of Australia
, often large canvases. Georgie explores a variety of media, building up a beautiful, richly textured surface and applying a limited, subtle colour palette. Her contemporary works convey the beauty and varied moods of salt pans, waterholes, wheat fields, sand dunes and the sea.

Robert Holcombe’s works are a contemporary statement of the beauty, harshness and fragility of the land and often exude an earthy, primal and tribal feel. Robert creatively explores various connections with landscape – geographical, spiritual and metaphoric and invites us to look beyond surface appearance. Often working with multiple perspectives, Robert can intrigue us with his wonderful compositions, which are always an exquisite balance of shape, line and colour.
