Gallery Statement: Archibald 2010 Entry

There has been much speculation about a painting submitted for the 2010 Archibald Prize.

The title of the painting in question is

Brett Collins (also depicted in painting: Dennis Ferguson)

Neither I nor the Board of Trustees have seen or selected this or any of the works submitted for the 2010 Archibald Prize. From an entry of some 700 paintings 30 to 35 portraits are generally selected for the exhibition.

The selection for the 2010 Archibald Prize exhibition will be announced on Wednesday 17 March, 11am. The exhibition will be on public display from Saturday 27 March until Sunday 20 May 2010.
