ARTNews Advice Email List - CONVERSION OF ARTNews CONTENT FROM HTML3&4 TO HTML5

In the medium-term, early next year, ARTNews is upgrading to a cloud environment. We thought we'd have to do this sooner until we were able to install the security we now have without major changes to our hosting arrangements.

Any future benefit of moving from a VPS to a cloud environment will be about hosting with a larger provider.

At this juncture we will also be redeveloping our online editor.

What we have is perfectly functional but it was developed ten year ago and so over the next few years it will no longer be supported so we need to update before then. Plus people are a lot more computer savvy then they were when we began so they would appreciate more tools which would increase their enjoyment in using our product.

All of our HTML4 pages will be upgraded to Google-preferred HTML5 when they are opened and then saved in the new editor.

This will give all old pages even more capacity to boost traffic that goes to all of our clients websites, which is ARTNews' specialty. Our size and specialist design will continue to serve all of our clients in our WIN/WIN philosophy. No one misses out.
