This is a lyrical, colourful exhibition of paintings based on a number of working trips spanning several years, during which John Caldwell and his wife, Jan, explored the length of the river from the highest accessible point at Tom Groggin to Lake Alexandrina at the river mouth.

The diversity of the river's watershed was experienced from the summit of Mt. Kosciusko, camping along the river gum country below Lake Hume, to the steep river cliffs in South Australia on a paddle wheeler and the broad waters of the river mouth lakes.

The selection of works from the exhibition, shown below, illustrate all these many aspects of the river's journey from mountains to the sea.
