Jinta Desert Art Gallery

Thank you to all of those who have written and congratulated us on this feature. We have taken a great deal of time and effort in writing and presenting all the material you see on this feature.

Painting of the Week

For the very serious collectors, this week we are featuring a great masterpiece by Johnny Warrangkula Jupurrula. To its credit this very Large work is one of only a few paintings of this scale completed up to that period. It was originally commissioned by Papunya Tula in 1975 and collected by me from Sotheby's quite a few years ago. The work is on Canvas, the medium is a powder paint, Ochre's and binders. The work is in excellent condition and would make a prize piece for any Public or great private collection.

Jinta Desert Art prides itself in sourcing and securing these highly collectable works and making them available to our collectors and members at a future date. This work and others you will view in the future highlights the depth and quality of our stockroom.

Consideration of Offer Conditions

If the suggested price is offered then the painting will be sold immediately otherwise we will take offers up to the suggested price. Each painting will be available for offer for a two month period. Our absolute lowest acceptance target is 20% off the suggested price or better. At the end of the two month we will announce if we have accepted the highest offer or withdrawn the painting.

There will be some great paintings on offer so I hope you can participate on some.

New Web Site Feature

Our past Paintings of the Week archive, here you can revisit paintings from previous weeks, and still have the opportunity to make an offer, if the work has not yet sold. This has become a convenient method for our clients and members to inter-react with us here at the gallery, and keep abreast with what is going on in the world of Aboriginal Art. It is certainly an opportunity to review a fine selection of works in detail, with their Dreaming Stories and the artist's biography. www.jintaart.com.au/paintingweek/pw_index.html"
