ABOUT JOHN CALDWELL BIOGRAPHY 1942 Born Sydney, Australia. 1959-68 Worked on pastoral properties in Queensland and the Riverina. 1969-72 Lived in London supported by a clerical job; began sketching; travelled on the Continent and Ireland. 1973-76 Full time study University of NSW (BA); began exhibiting paintings. Since 1977 painting and elected to the Australian Watercolour Institute. 1979 Working Trip to the UK. 1981-84 Vice-President of the Australian Watercolour Institute. 1987 Officially invited to Antarctica with artists Jan Senbergs and Bea Maddock. 1991 Residency in Ipswich and West Moreton coalfields, Queensland. 1994 Working trip to France and Cornwall. Living in Blackheath in the Blue Mountains for the past 25 years.
