BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS:

Adam Hill has played the Yidaki (Didgeridoo) professionally over the past two years. During this short period, Adam has undergone extensive tuition and practice in learning the appropriation of individual playing techniques. Part of this learning has meant staying in the homeland of the instrument, Yirrkala- North East Arnhem Land N.T. Adam Hill has sought the knowledge of many great players of the Yidaki. Djakapurra Munyarryun, Mathew Doyle, Mark Atkins and Michael Cafe. Adam has since imparted his knowledge on many, through public performance and demonstrations within the N.S.W. Education Department. Adam has performed innumerable formal public ceremonies both nationally and abroad. Adam is a resident performer with NAISDA / BANGARRA dance companies.

Adam Hill is a practicing visual artist, a member of 'Boomalli Aboriginal Artists' and has exhibited in numerous invitational exhibitions over the past three years. Adam has staged three solo exhibitions within this short time and is currently working toward the next. Adam has works held in numerous collections (see credits). Adam's arts background evolved since attaining his B.A. in Graphic Design (U.W.S. Nepean 1994). Adam was employed as the Graphic Designer of 'The Indigenous Australian's' exhibition at the Australian Museum (1998), it was in this position that he was introduced to Sydney's indigenous art culture. Adam's art is represented from pre-/primary schools to public murals and many other community arts projects.
