AGEING AND DISABILITY

DADAA WA works in partnership with the Disability Services Commission (DSC) Accommodation Directorate to deliver arts programs to adults with intellectual disabilities who are ageing. The aim of these programs is to provide day occupation for those who have lost their work placement, maintain and develop arts and life skills, facilitate pathways into their local communities and provide training and advice to staff.

The program began in 2003 with a partnership between the DSC, Challenger TAFEs Centre for Leadership and Community Development (CLCD) and WA Horticultural and Environmental Science Skills Centre and DADAA WA with a pilot project Creating Communities for a Thriving Future.
