Buddhism has no borders, only horizons. It is a faith ofperpetual evolution and regeneration which spreadsthroughout Asia, and is the fastest growing religion inAustralia.

Buddhist monks, dancers and musicians will proclaim thearrival of the exhibition BUDDHA at the Art Gallery of NewSouth Wales on Friday 9 November at 12noon.

More than 130 works of art depicting Buddha covering morethan a 2,000 year time span are on loan to the Art Galleryof New South Wales from international and local public andprivate collections. Through these wonderful and hugelyvaried works in the exhibition BUDDHA, the world of Buddhismis opened.

The exhibition presents images of the myriad of individualBuddhas and Buddha Lands conveying the incomprehensibleimmensity of Buddhahood. These images are from sites alongthe routes of Buddhism - from India to Central Asia, Tibet,Sri Lanka, Thailand, eastwards to China and Japan, and southto Australia.

An extensive Events program complements the exhibition, andincludes the Wisdom Room with Buddhist groups, celebrityspeakers, films, dance performances, Dharma talks, eveningmeditation.

The exhibition has the blessing of the World Buddhist SanghaCouncil, meeting in Sydney from 9 to 13 November for the 1stMeeting of the 7th World Buddhist Sangha Council ExecutiveCommittee.
