�The Cloven Viscount� - a fictional story by Italo Calvino is the inspiration behind Black Francis. One man split by a cannon ball in battle, dividing him into two halves. One holding extreme goodness; the other unlimited evil - wrestling to gain control.

Dry mounted illustrations, charcoal drawings and sculpture.

Gallery 2 - A painting and a photograph

'A painting and a photograph' is the 2nd in a series of exhibitions curated by Nicholas Chambers which simply install 2 artworks onto a single gallery wall. The first of this series of exhibitions, 'A painting and a sculpture', included work by John Nixon and Martin Creed and was installed at 1st Floor Gallery, Melbourne in May 2001. These exhibitions follow a straightforward model proposed by the curator which aims to uphold the autonomy of each participant in the exhibition: the artist, the artwork, the curator and the viewer.
