I seek sensuality in hand with eroticism in my paintings.
When I paint women they are sometimes shown as lovers but more
often are contained within a world of their own preening, languishing
in the heat of the day or arousing themselves from sleep.
It is these personal moments of 'aloneness' that I want to convey.
I use soft broad washes to emphasise the smoothness of the female forms in large teardrops of soft tone.
In this world I depict, they lie on beds, squat in bathrooms, gaze into mirrors, moments across the solitude of their day.
