A New England Regional Museum travelling exhibition with assistance from the Gordon Darling Foundation, the NSW Ministry for the Arts and the Regional Galleries Association of NSW.

It's rare to view works of a celebrated artist that have never been exhibited - especially when that artist is already in his eighth decade and indisputably the father of Surrealism in Australia.

In James Gleeson: On Starting a Painting, a forthcoming exhibition at the University of Technology Sydney Art Gallery, 3-27 July, James Gleeson's drawings that he completed as forerunners to the creation of his larger works will cast light on the creative processes of a master artist.
